Large crowds turned out to watch teams from Winnipeg, Steinbach, Dryden, Lockport, Selkirk and the Northeastern League compete for cash prizes. Many players will fondly recall the club windups, barbecues, golf tour- naments and post mortems at various watering holes. Some may even remember participating in tournaments at Portage, Kenora and Elphinstone. Unfortunately, in the early 19805, the old crocks began to lose their touch. Slowpitch began to at- tract men and women of all ages. The flames of fast- ball within the community were slowly dying and would soon consume the remains of a once excel- lent Tyndall Fastball Club. : .
