()tineka Mall nearing completion, circa 1975. A grand opening ceremony was held in October 1976. Building a grocery outlet on the Reserve was
initially discussed. but the idea was soon replaced with the proposal to build a shopping and office complex. Other economic initiatives discussed
by the ()paskwayak Cree Nation of this time period that came to fruition include the Kikiwak Inn and the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre.

The Cordon Lathlin Memorial Centre was named in the late Chief Gordon Lathlin's honour in recognition of his Vision to make OCN one of Canada's

leading First Nations communities.
