"While living here I have spent seven short holidays in good old Winnipeg, and have driven to Florida for three winter holidays. 'Mb have two sons — Kevin born December 29, 1957 and Kenny born October 13, 1959. I like the East, and I think Ottawa is a very pretty city.” WEGE, Florence Second daughter of Fred and Rosa WEGE, lived in Spearhill from 1926 to 1943. She married Kenneth MCLEOD of New Zealand. They have two sons - Keith, now twenty years of age, and Allan seventeen years. Florence writes - ”I came to Auckland, New Zealand in May 1946, and have lived here ever since, except for my first visit home to Canada in 1955 with my two sons. We stayed with my mother and dad at Spearhill most of the time except for a short period in Winnipeg with my sister Emily and brother Arnold. I had my second trip home last year (1966), visiting my mother, sister and brother in Winnipeg; and sister Helen in Ottawa. I was home just six months and had a won rful time. It was so nice seeing a lot of old friends and relatives again, after a ten year ab- sence. "My husband works in the Post Office. Our eldest son Keith is taking Civil Engineering at the University, and our youngest son is training to be a chef. New Zealand is quite a beautiful little country, but so different from Canada. After several years of homesteading, Tom began working at the plant, liv- ing in a small cabin during the week, and going home for the weekend, as did a number of other men.
