On his income tax form for the
year 1924 dated February 26, 1926,
Benjamin Ledet stated he had lived in
Canada for 20 years. He is married
and has 7 children aged 2 to 17 yrs.
old. Taxable income was $868.65 after
deductions of $2,352. 08. He adds that ‘
he owns 320 acres of land of which 8 f” ‘
acres are under cultivation. His other
possessions are a wagon, a sleigh, a
separator, a mower, a hay rake, a log
barn 40’x 24' which he built by himself;
all purchased in 1912; also 4 work
horses, 8 oxen, 12 milk cows, apig and
12 chickens. His main income was
derived from the sale of eggs, butter,
