MacGregor. They worked hard — eggs and cream provided a weekly income. The Bueckert family were, and are, faithful members of the Sommerfeld church at MacGregor and have seen it grow over the years. Isaac and Elizabeth retired to Austin in 1974 and Elizabeth continues to be involved in her church and her family. They had five children; 1. The Ernie and Mary (Wiebe) Beuckert Family. In 1959 Abe married Bertha Loewen ** who had moved to the Image Creek district from Gretna, MB. They spent most of their married life on their farm on the NW of 25—10—10 west of the Currie school. Abe and Bertha raised five children; Maria Ruth married Arthur (Art) William Rodgers **. Rebecca (Becky) Margaret was born in the hospital at MacGregor and is involved in health care work at Nanaimo, BC. Victor Abram married Kimberly Dawn Penner in 1985. They farm and do trucking work at Lavenham. They have two children, Eric Leonard and Victoria Dawn. Leonard Jacob (1971—1991), was adopted into the Bueckert family at the age of three weeks. He died in a boating accident in Lake Henry near Port Alberni, BC. He is buried at MacGregor. Isaac Fehr was born at Winkler in 1934. He lived at the Manitoba School in Portage from 1950 to 1967. He then came to live with Abe and Bertha Bueckert and got involved in the Sprucedale Workshop. Since February, 1995 Isaac has been enjoying independent living in the Austin Hillview lodge. He attends the MacGregor Bergthaler Church. . Ernest (Ernie) is the second son of Isaac and Elizabeth Bueckert. In 1962 Ernie married Mary Wiebe **. They farmed first in the Currie district, then at Southend and in 1972 bought the Pete Peters farm at Springbrook. At this time Ernie started farming on his own and has continued his hog operation, with his sons, continuously, ever since, except for 1974 when his barn burned and had to be rebuilt. Ernie and Mary are quite involved with their church and community activities. Their five children all live close to home which Mary says "is a real privilege".
