They settled at Sidney. Bill worked for the CPR. He and Marion are buried at Sidney. They had ten children; 1. Archibald L. (1895-1934) was born and educated at Sidney. He worked at the Sidney Brick Yards and married Edna Irene McIntyre ** of the Arizona district. He died of pneumonia at the age of thirty-nine years leaving Edna with four children and one born after her husband’s death. Edna later married Bill Porter who had five children. 2. John (Jack) (1890-1953) married Adeline Hall (1908—1968) **. They lived at Carberry with a daughter Velma. 3. Harold (Shrub) (1904-1996) married Muriel Calvert **. Harold ran the butcher shop in Sidney for a few years and then worked in Winnipeg. They returned and operated the Firdale Store. Harold and Muriel raised a daughter, Tranna. . Ruth (1903-1913) died of scarlet fever and is buried at Sidney. 5. Marion (Mae) married Joseph Graham. 6. Ethel (1901-1977) married Mr. Markle. 7. Francis 8 9 4: . Jennie married Mr. Dunton. . Violet married Kenneth Hoover. 10 Margaret married Matthew Wright **. William (Billy) Brown (1883-1950) was born at Barling Magna, Essex, England and came to Canada first in 1904. He was a friend of Sam Snow, coming from neighboring villages in England. He worked as a lumber jack and then for the CPR but returned to England in two years. He married Lillian Wm. "Billie“ and Lillian (Wyatt) Brown c 1909 71 Wyatt (1888-1972) and they returned to Canada settling on the NW of 10—11—10. Billy and Lillian had eight children: Winnifred, Maud, Charles, David, Edward, Marion, Barbara and Anne. Their five oldest attended the Macaulay school. In 1926 ill health persuaded the family to return to England. Billy and Lillian are buried in the cemetery at Barling Magna in England. Charles and his wife visited the old farm on three occasions. Edward returned to Canada twenty years ago. He and his wife Peggy live in Aldergrove, BC. He and his sisters Marion and Barbara, in England, are the only surviving members of the family. Jacob I. Brown (1888-1970) and his wife Maria Unrau (1892-1961) were married in 1911. They farmed near Morden for eighteen years, then moved to Ratner, SK. In 1938 they rented land at Edrans. In 1941 they were on the move again. This time they bought land at Pine Creek. Jacob and Maria raised twelve children (two other children died as infants while the family lived in Morden). They raised this large family during the depression years and when they came to Pine Creek had to build a house and other buildings and develop uncultivated land. The younger Brown children attended the Forestville school. 1. Isaac the oldest of this Brown family moved to Alberta and pursued ranching and became a rodeo cowboy. He also attended Bible College but died at a young age, leaving his wife Katherine and a nine month old son, Isaac. 2. Mary married Dave Neufeld. They farmed for a time in the Mayfeld district and in the 1950’s moved to Winnipeg where Dave was employed by the T. Eaton Co. until he retired. They had six children, Irene, Thelma, Hilda, Ruth, Jim, and Joyce. 3. Jake followed in his fathers footsteps as a farmer. He and his wife Kay had eight children, Harold, Dorothy, Harvey, Marvin, Kenneth, Joan, Raymond and Muriel. Jake and Kay are buried at Austin. 4. Abe gave up farming in the mid 1950’s. He was involved in the automobile industry in Winnipeg and also worked as an auctioneer. He and his wife Gertrude have five children, Beverley Mary-Ann, Linda Roseann, Larry Richard, Wayne Douglas, and Kelly Raymond. 5. Frank like Jake, continued as a farmer. Frank, now deceased, and his wife Sadie had a daughter, Helen. 6. Peter worked for various farmers before going to Winnipeg to find work. He worked with Pioneer Electric at Brandon, Red Deer and Winnipeg. He later was a partner in Carte Electric. Peter and his wife Margaret had four children, Sharon, Verne,
