Both brothers were known for their love of sports, with Harry excelling as a hockey player and Michael was well known for his baseball skills. Each would leave behind their wives and for Michael, a young son. On June 2006, the Transcona Legion #7 named their main hall after brothers Harry and Mike Moroz.

It is so hard to imagine the devastation that a mother would feel when she loses her son in war. One Transcona mother would have the painful experience , not once but twice. Mrs. Moroz lost Harry Moroz both of her sons just months apart. Harry Moroz would be killed March 23, 1944 when his plane was shot down over Germany. On August 9, 1944 Michael Moroz was killed

in action in Normandy, France. Mrs. Moroz would often serve as Silver Cross Mother for the Transcona community. In 1959 Royal Street was renamed Moroz Street in memory of her precious sons.
