in establishing this bursary. On June 29, 2011, Heather Lamb of CN presented the award to a student from Murdoch MacKay Collegiate, who had excelled in the Metals and Aerospace Program. CN is committed to the communities, and on June 23, 2011 made a significant and generous gift to the University of Winnipeg and its Indigenous Studies and Community Learning programs by committing $750,000 to the future education, community and economic development of Indigenous communities across Canada. This gift will support the University’s Master’s in Development Practice Program (MDP) by creating the CN MDP Scholarships, a CN Visitor to the CN Shops Indigenous Resource Centre, and by supporting community learning initiatives through the creation of the CN Model School Bursaries which will assist High School students in the University of Winnipeg’s Model School based in the Collegiate. CN is also the major sponsor of the Transcona Centennial Anniversary book. The strong link between CN and Transcona has continued through the years, and continues to flourish. CN is looking toward the future with optimism and is well aligned with their business goals to create value for their shareholders. With an increase in goods to be shipped and with a responsibility to lo’bk for environmental responsible solutions, the railway is well positioned to be a leader in the transportation sector.
