NEVER TO FORGET and pledged to keep the memories of their fallen comrades alive. We must never forget the courage and sacrifice that took place. We must also remember countless others, young and old alike who served on the farms or factories, and supported the war effort. All played a part willingly to bring their loved ones home. The poppy is a symbol of Remembrance Day. Those who fought in Belgium and northern France noticed the extraordinary very fragile flower, the cornfield poppy. This flower splashed its blood red blooms over the field every summer. To this day, it still blooms there, and those who served their country made the poppy their emblem. On June 5, 2011, the Decoration Day Parade, along with a ceremony at the Field of Honour, and the Cenotaph Ceremony were held. At the Cenotaph, the dedication of the World War I and World War II plaques were replaced, blessed by Father Edouard Bonin. , . . . sac. m3 .,s._.x 9.2;. :5‘ .é'mmu'miik'ikfi", :‘ a")?
