My husband, Harry, was already here work— ing at the quarry when I came up Lake Manitoba on the “Marvyl” and landed at Old Gypsumville, October 29, 1909 and went back in July 1910. My sister, Mrs. Garrioch and I came back in October 1910. We came to the Back Camp on a Sunday afternoon on a hand car on the “Dinky Track” with Ralph and Walter Clemons and Archie Campbell. The next day we were driven to Fair- ford with the Clemons team and wagon. The Camp was comprised of one cook shack which accommodated the cook, Willie Garrioch, who served 45 men three square meals a day. I came back here to help cook until the boarding house opened.
