School Superintendent, and leader of C.G.I.T. and Mission Band. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and M.C.W.A. (later U.C.W.) and is now church treasurer. Clayton retired from the garage in 1960. He then worked at carpentering for several years. They had three children: Lois Marion Thody, born 1930, married Joseph Cloutier in 1952. They lived in Mather for a couple of years in 1955—1956 when Joe and Floyd took over Clayton’s garage. They came home to Mather for Christmas two years ago and celebrated their twenty- fifth wedding anniversary while here. They have three children — Kenneth Ross, born 1956; Darin Lee, born 1962; and Lori Ann, born 1963. They live in Red Deer, Alberta. Floyd Clayton Thody, born in 1932, married Shirley Groff in 1954. They lived in Mather for some time after they were married. Floyd worked in the garage with his dad until Floyd moved to Winnipeg in 1958. He is teaching Automotives in Red River College. They have two children both born while they were in Mather, Cheryl Lorraine born in 1955, married Steven Melnyck and now living in Win- nipeg, and Darrell Floyd, born in 1956 and works in a bank in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Albert Ronald Thody, born 1938, married Georgina Hunter in 1960. Ron is now principal of the High School in Hay River, N .W.T. after being in Inuvik, N.W.T. for ten years. They have three chil— dren Glen Ronald, born in 1968; Lyall Clayton, born in 1970; and Pamela Gail, born in 1974. Thompson Family Robert Thompson came from Newcastle, Eng- land in the late 1880’s to the Clearwater district. In 1909 Robert married Mary Elizabeth Luckie, who came to the Crystal City district from London, England. In 1918 they moved to the Sinkerville dis— Thompson Family. Clara, George, Rose, Cecil, Lil, Alf, Helen, Bob. trict and lived on 1-1—13, where they continued farm- ing for a few years, and then had a farm sale. They spent most of their remaining years in Cartwright. They had a family of four sons and four daughters — Robert, Alfred, Cecil, George, Helen, Lilian, Rosalind, and Clara. Bob of Mather has two daugh- ters and one son. Alf lives in the Belmont district and has three sons. Cecil (deceased in 1977) lived at Pearl, Ontario and had three sons and two daughters. George of Cartwright is unmarried. Helen Hoard lives in Fort Frances, Ontario and has a family of six sons and three daughters. Lil Anderson lives in Bur— naby, BC. and has no family. Rose Brigham of Ottawa has one daughter and three sons. Clara Hay lives in Thunder Bay and has a family of two daugh- ters and two sons. Mary Elizabeth Thompson passed away in 1945. Robert passed away in 1947. Bob Thompson Family Bob Thompson purchased the SE quarter of 25-1—14 and started farming in 1942 in the Mather community. In January, 1943 Bob married Merle Lowry of the Howard district. Our family of two daughters and one son — Shirley, Diane, and Terry — were raised on the farm and attended school at Mather and Crystal City. Shirley and Diane were employed with the Manitoba Telephone System in Winnipeg prior to their marriage. Terry is employed with the S.D.S. Company in Bob Thompson, Stan Kemp.
