Description
A theater program by The Winnipeg Little Theater of "Overlaid" by Robertson Davies and directed by Jack Stewart, "The Long Christmas Dinner" by Thornton Wilder and directed by Madge Roberts and Nesta Trevenen, and "The Man of Destiny" by George Bernard Shaw and directed by Michael Blurton. The plays were performed on April 4, 1952., The Little Theatre Movement or la petite scène, has now become a generic term for the amateur or nonprofessional, "community" theatre in Canada. Originally, however, it referred to an international reform movement protesting against the crass, mass-produced, professional fare seen around the turn of the century.
