THE RAY KINGDON FAMILY HISTORY
Ray and Doreen Kingdon resided in the Cadurcis District for thirty-six Years from 1964 until 2000. As recorded in the Basswood History book “A Century of Living” we bought the former Jack Cooper farm (N1/2 of 32-14-19) and moved there in 1964 with Doreen’s 3 children,Ri¢hard Arleigh and Lorenne. We had two more children Averill born in 1964 & Bruce in 1968.
The children took all their schooling in Basswood and Minnedosa Schools. We faithfully attended Cadurcis United Church and the children Attended Sunday School and were confirmed there.
Richard and Brenda live in Airdrie Alberta and Richard works for an Airline in Alberta and Brenda is a nurse. Their children Trenton and Janet also live in Alberta. Trenton is married to Danielle and they have A son Ethan.
Arleigh is married to Bruce Firby and they live on the farm north of Minnedosa. Their family of Alanna Micheal Scott and Andrew live in Manitoba with exception of Scott who works in Alberta. Alanna married Bernie WanNaruk and they have a son Wyatt. Micheal is to be married to Tanis Hunt.
Lorenne and partner Wayne live in Surry B.C. Their boys Derrick and Daniel live and work in Lethbridge Alberta and their Daughter Deanna ls living and working in New Zealand. Averill and husband Marten and their children Ainsley Jada and Mackenzie live and work in Red Deer Alberta .Marten works for and oil Servicing company and Averill is in the Real Estate field. Their Children Attend school in Red Deer.
Bruce resides in Minnedosa and is the Head Day Custodian at both Minnedosa Schools.
Doreen and I are enjoying our retirement in Minnedosa and we enjoy our 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We have many fond memories of our life in the Cadurcis district and are Thankful for the opportunity to have been able to raise our children on the farm.
