Wilson (pitcher, 1928) and Albert Bouchard. 1930’s —- Baseball declined, although some of the players from the 30’s, plus the following, tried to keep it alive: Tom Ewing, Earl Gilmore, Clayton McGorman, Lawson Mabley, Earl Smith, Spud Murphy, Fawcett Wilson, Cliff Stewart. 1939 and 1940's — The war limited play, but some players were Lawrence Cripps, George Carr (twenty years of coaching and playing), Arnold Wetherill, Bob and Alf Newton, Gilbert Gusdal, Cliff Stewart, Fawcett Wilson, Spud Murphy, Gerry Mabley and Mervyn Duffy. Sam Adamson was president. 1948 — Line up: Walter and Wilfred Smith, Louis Kelm, Russ Newton, Delmar Kyle, Alex and Nick Hordiyuk, Eldon Hearn, George Carr, Clarence Doucette, Murray Cawston, Bill Cook, Edmund Grudeski, Henry Ohirko. 1957 — Line up: Chy Habing, Bob Habing, Maurice Stewart, Duane Stewart, Laurence McCutcheon, Frank Hoehn, Carl Ennis, Albert McLeod, Philip McLeod and Gerald Howard. 1962 — High School team: Donald McLeod, Larry Coutts, Doug Wetherill, Bob and Wayne Vandroebays, Gerry Gebler, Brian McCrae, Charlie Jones, Orville Robinson, Daryl Habing and Dwight Andrews. Organized baseball did not continue into the 1960’s for Kelwood. Fastball replaced baseball; A team was organized in the mid-1960’s by E. Chumola and W. Moscrip. Some members of this team were J. Kuyp, J. Poncsak, R. Watson, Charlie Jones and Don McLeod. Later, fastball teams were organized for sports days but no records were kept. Ed Grudeski showed great interest in these teams. One team in the 1970’s included Curtis Grudeski, Dale Henton and Greg Newton. Little mention is made of ladies’ softball, although there were many teams. Some names mentioned refer to a team coached by Alex Russell in the 1940’s. Players included Muriel Watt, Phyllis Kolesar, Pearl Grudeski and Margaret Fedak. In 1982, a girls’ softball team from Kelwood included Karen Grudeski, Bernice Walker and Nancy Gower.
