REGIMENTAL No. 22690, EX-CORPORAL DENNIS VICTOR ISFELD I was born in Winnipeg on August 18, 1942 and resided in the Amaranth District my entire years prior to joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I joined the Force on July 16, 1962 at Winnipeg, Manitoba and was immediately transferred to Regina, Sask to “Depot” Division for training. Upon arrival at “Depot”, I was issued my first uniform of ‘Green’ Serge (this outfit is only familiar to Members) and put to work. Through an error at RCMP HQ in Winnipeg, I was engaged into the Force two weeks sooner than the other 31 Members of my troop resulting in my getting the temporary job as a plumber in the Force (something I didn’t know a thing about). However, shortly thereafter, 31 other young men, aged 19-22 from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island to Cape Breton in Nova Scotia arrived to commence 9 grueling months of truly disciplinary training. Our courses varied from RCMP History to the Criminal Code of Canada as well as the usual physical aspects of everything from Foot Drill to Equitation. I should note that training now is down to five months duration with no Horse work. Following nine hectic months, Graduation finally arrived with our first postings to be announced. I can recall that this was an extremely exciting time for me as I had previously indicated my desire to be transferred to Alberta" preferably Southern Alberta. The Force, at this time, never transferred anyone back to his home Province. In any case, we all gathered into one of the lecture rooms, for the announcements. I suppose I was both disappointed and surprised to learn I was going to “Osoyoos”, B.C. Upon hearing the announcement, my question was “Where is this place, Vesuvius” as I had never heard of such a place. As it turned out Osoyoos was and still is the finest place in B.C. I was stationed here from May 5, 1963 to June 1, 1968. From Osoyoos, l was transferred to Crime Index Section in Vancouver. It was here where I had the pleasure of working with Keith Shotbolt, who joined the Force the same'time as me as well as having grown up together in Amaranth. I stayed at Crime Index until July 1, 1971 whereupon I was transferred to Crime Index, Winnipeg. On July 1, 1972 I was transferred to National Crime In- telligence Unit, Winnipeg, where I was promoted to corporal on Oc- tober l, 1972. I remained here until my resignation from the Force on December 31, 1973, having spent 11 years, 169 days as a Member. On August 29, 1964, Elizabeth Thompson, youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Mac Thompson and I were married in Amaranth. We were blessed with three fine sons, Kevin, Jeffrey and Derek. We currently reside at 2381 Omineca Drive, Kamloops, B.C. and are self-employed Business People. CLYDE CAMPBELL KITTERINGHAM Parents: T.C. Kitteringham (Clyde) - lives in Kamloops, B.C. J .M. Kitteringham (Jean) Deceased Shortly after World War II ended and my father returned from overseas my family moved from Alonsa to Amaranth. I remember Dad worked in the gypsum mine and I believe we left because it was going to close down. We lived not too far from the railroad tracks going into the mine and Beckdoldts lived across the road a bit from us. I remember oak trees, seneca root, and riding to school in a horse pulled sleigh in the winter. Funny what sticks in your mind! I’m not sure I could even find the spot where our house used to be.
