they lived. She was interested in art! culture and history and was enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota when they lived in St. Paul. Beatrice studied German and became fluent in that language. This was greatly ap- preciated by her mother—in—law when she flew from Vienna to visit them. Erich’s work took them to England, where Beatrice was delighted with the English gardens and became an avid gardener herself, growing beautiful roses and shrubs. They took up sailing and both became quite dexterous at handling a sailboat in the English Channel. Their next home was in Los Gatos. California. Beatrice returned to Manitoba in the summer of 1971 to visit with her relatives and friends. Her health was poor at this time and she became ill and was unable to return to her home in Los Gatos. She passed away on October 11, 1971. Beatrice is lovingly remembered by her family and friends and by her nieces and nephews, to whom she gave so much love and affection. 3. Guon’m Sigribur (Siggal was born in 1926. She grew up in the Geysir district and moved to Winnipeg in 1944. She was employed with the Canadian Wheat Board until she married Robert Tait of Winnipeg. Robert is an Air Force veteran and is presently employed with Imperial Oil of Win— nipeg. Robert and Sigga have four children: a) Ralph Neil lives in Winnipeg. bl Paula Catherine lives in Winnipeg and is mar» tied to Irv Biluk. c} Bruce Lawrence lives in Winnipeg. d} Pamela Ingrid Mary is still at home. 4. Laws, Jr. married Margret Sigurveig Johnson from Riverton, Manitoba on September 26, 1948. Margret is the daughter of Sigrfin and the late Valdimar Johnson of Riverton. They reside in Arborg, Manitoba. Larus has been in the automotive trade business for thirty years and co— Larus and Margaret Poison Family Gregory Larus Valdimar, Elaine Sigrun, Ernest Alan, Linda Margaret, David Jeffrey. 276 owner of Viking Motors Ltd. from 1958-1980. He served as Councillor in the first Incorporated Village of Arborg Council 1963—65 and also spent a number of years on town planning. He was return- ed to Council in the 1980 elections. They have five children and seven grandchildren : a} Linda Margaret is married to Raymond Sigvaiclason. They reside in Vioir and have three children, Todd Raymond, Scott Russell and Melanie Elan. b) Gregory Lam's Valdimar married Laureen Benson. Gregory is a teacher at Arborg Collegiate and they reside in Geysir at Arnheioarstaour which was the homestead of the first teacher in a Geysir school, Johann Magnfis Bjarnason. Their children are Sean Benedikt Larus and Erin Lot-an. cl Elaine Sigrfin married Ronald Shoemaker. They reside in Brandon and their children are Lori Lynn and Mark Aaron. d} Ernest Allan resides in Carman, Manitoba. 3) David Jeffrey is still at home in Arborg. 5. Albina Ingibjorg (Inga) was born in 1931. She grew up in the Geysir district. ‘She married Wallace Doll of Rivenon, Manitoba. They were later divorced. Inga and Wallace had one son, Wesley Conrad. Inga worked for the Arborg North Star Couop Creamery Association as an office clerk before moving to Winnipeg in 1961. There she was employed with Pitblado and Hoskin, a law firm, for several years. She later became interested in natural healing and studied nutrition, scientific massage and reflexology and changed her employ» ment to work full time as a reflexologist in the Ar- borg area. a) Wesley Doll married Jaclyn Deborah Richards. They reside in Winnipeg and have two children, Quentin Wesley and Krista Nicole. Clafur (or), Sigurour (Siggi) and Victor still live in the family home, together with their mother, Elin. Hialti married Carol, daughter of Fribrik and Helga Finnson of Vihir, in 1975. They live in their own home on the same farm with sons Brent, Curtis and Darcy Erlendson. Carol is employed at the village office in Arborg. For several years, Oli worked part time with heavy equipment and on railway construction before beginning farming full time. Then the four brothers took over Larus’s farm, expanding the operation to 8 1f 2 quarters and changing over from dairy to beef cattle and grain. *She spent the first years of her life at the home of Boovar and Guolaug Jakobson, rejoining the rest of the family when Larus was married for the second time.
