This black-and-white photograph, taken at the Manitoba Agricultural College Tuxedo campus circa 1911, depicts the women working on a plot of land near the main college building. The typed card reads: "A special course for rural teachers in gardening and homemaking skills C. 1911, at the Tuxedo site. This led, shortly after, to the organization of Boys and Girls clubs, which later became 4-H clubs. Rural teachers played a major role in their development." |
