Description: | Bell tower of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cook's Creek, Manitoba, designed and built by Fr. Philip Ruh, OMI between 1930 to 1952. The bell tower was completed well after Fr. Ruh's death in 1962, by two of his main carpenters, Mike Yanchynski and Mike Sawchuk. In this photo, scaffolding surrounds the tower and three men stand on the platform, with a pulley system to deliver the concrete to raise the tower. The view is from the south ramp of the Grotto. |
