Description: | Colour photo of the site of St. Onufrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Smoky Lake, Alberta. According to the 1941 publication, Propam'yatna knyha, which commemorated the first fifty years of Ukrainian Catholics in Canada, Fr. Philip Ruh, OMI built the church for the parish in 1915. The church itself was disassembled and moved to the nation's capital where it was reconstructed, and blessed during an official reopening in Canada Hall, in the Museum of Civilization, on 26 June 1996. It is known as the Museum's largest artifact. |
