Description
A presentation, written by Walter Rudnicki in 2000. Part one of this presentation examines parallels between the 1969 White Paper policy and what Rudnicki calls Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s “2001 ‘White Paper’ model”. The latter effort “includes a lot of separate initiatives developed at different times” intent on “bulldozing” Aboriginal rights in Canada. Rudnicki names, describes and illustrates a series of federal programs that support the extinguishment agenda. Part two of the presentation recommends action on several fronts, primarily through a reworked national Indigenous organization active on domestic and international levels.
