Text on the back reads "Fibres and fabrics can be exposed to all types of weather conditions in this Weather-Ometer in the clothing and textiles laboratory of the Faculty of Home Economics. This instrument is being used at the university to measure the deterioration of textiles under the combined influences of weather, light and polluting gases. Test fabrics are hung in the chamber and exposed for varying lengths of time to light and pollution gases. After exposure they are taken from the Weather-Ometer and tested for strength." |
