Description: | This photograph album contains black and white photographs depicting life in Northern Manitoba in the late 1920s and into the early 1930s. The album details life in Churchill, Manitoba in particular though there are images of other northern communities in the western provinces. Main themes in the photographs are of construction projects in particular the Hudson Bay Railroad, settlement communities, rail roads, indigenous people, Charles and Anne Lindbergh, and images of northern landscapes. The covers of the two albums in this fonds are embossed with a scene of a teepee in the wilderness and a hand painted image of an Aboriginal male wearing a feather headdress. |
